CURLY YARNS 46
- Curly, crinkled, creative, textured threads in a limited selection of colours. Some colours may have different thicknesses.
- Salmon pink with minimal corn yellow mix of colours.
- One 'skein' of approximately 5-7g as per first 2 images.
- Final image shows a group of skeins 'en masse' to better illustrate the colour.
- Approximately 0.75-1.5m lengths (75-150cms). N.B. The threads are packed at the longer length and as the fibres twist and curl round one another after cutting the length obviously shortens. They have a slight elastic component making them a little 'stretchy'.
- Threads have a wavy/crinkled texture.
- Use as single lengths (they can be carefully unwinded and separated) or as groups of twisted threads.
- Use couching stitches to tether them down. Can be difficult to 'sew' with, their wavy, crinkly texture can be tricky to work through fabrics.
- Mixed fibre composition may include cotton, wool, acrylic and man made fibres with elastane/elastic/rubber core.
- Weaving, mixed media and textile arts, use in fabric sculptures, art doll/angel/fairy hair, scrapbooking, collage projects.
