WREATHS - DETAILS, DISPLAY IDEAS, CARE & SAFETY ADVICE

JUTE ROPE RINGS

The Jute rope is recycled, clean, repurposed old 'marine' grade rope. N.B. This rope has never been in or near the sea! It has a rough, rustic and in places 'gnarled' textured surface. The jute fibres have been stiffened with PVA glue.

The rings of rope are joined by glue at the top and the join is obscured by hessian webbing glued in place over the joins. The rings may be tethered wholly or partially together at their circumferences. With the large size rings the outer ring may hang loosely around the inner rings. The wreath is hung from the jute twine loop.

DECORATION IDEAS

The wreath is intended for INTERIOR use to display in situations where it is not exposed to rain or getting wet. To extend its life it will need to be protected from rain.

The rope rings are dark brown in colour with some variations. The wreaths can be overpainted with acrylic or emulsion paints. Or given a light colourwash to complement your room decor.

Hang at the front door in an enclosed or covered porch, beach hut, summerhouse or garden room.

All seasons use as it is for a simple, minimalist, contemporary design look.

Or, decorate the rings by adding your own seasonally themed decorative touches.

  • A Christmas theme with foliage, holly, cones etc, baubles, tinsel and ribbons
  • A Valentine's Day theme with hearts and bows
  • Hang bunches of yarn/fabric tassels, pom-poms, trailing ribbons and bows from the top
  • Easter theme with eggs, chicks, ribbon bows and flowers
  • Hanging groups of fabric hearts/stars/fishes etc
  • Bunches of foliage/herbs/dried flowers eg lavender

For further ideas please see Folly Flora 'Make It Yourself' Kits (for decorative embellishments).

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS & WARNING
The wreath rings can be quite heavy, please ensure they are hung from a secure support.
KEEP AWAY FROM FIRE - For safety reasons please site away from burning candles, open fires and stoves etc, the added decorations (if trailing ribbons used) may present a fire risk if exposed to naked flames.

I have tried to represent the colours of the jute rope and twine by photographing in natural light. Please be aware different computer screens and monitors may show slight variations in the colours.

Handmade in Rutland.
