DETAILS for 'CREATIVE CRAFT SUPPLIES' PRODUCTS

OVAL FRAMES BLANK CANVASSES

Oval shaped frames with pre-stretched blank canvas glued to black plastic frame.

Overall size 25cms Length x 20cms Width.  Frame black plastic lcm thick and 2cm wide

100% cotton canvas, medium texture, cream colour.

Unprimed on front painting surface, sealed on back surface.

Suitable once primed for painting in acrylic, oils and gouache.

Use as a base for mixed media work, collage with fabric and paper using PVA to secure.

Prolonged exposure to UV sunlight can cause some fading of unpainted areas of canvas.

PAPER from MULBERRY BARK FIBRES

Two types are available, one handmade in single sheets, one machine made and is cut/torn from a roll.

The base of this eco paper comes from the bark of fast growing shoots of the mulberry tree and is produced by artisans in a traditional, sustainable way.

LIME GREEN, MOSS GREEN, MAUVE/PINK, 'SALMON'/PINK/BEIGE paper sheets measure approximately 60cms by 90cms.

Textured, decorative, handmade mulberry fibres paper sheets with deckled edge and visible plant fibres.

These are full sheets of natural paper akin to soft, thick, flexible, tissue paper featuring clearly visible mulberry tree shoots fibres. 

For packing purposes to post, the sheets are folded.

BURGUNDY, RED and PASTEL PINK paper lengths in various sizes or per continuous metre.

Semi-translucent, textured, decorative paper, machine made from mulberry bark fibres, with deckled edge and visible plant strands. 
The paper when torn by hand will give a soft, feathered, deckled edge.
A lightweight and strong paper, almost translucent in places with clearly visible, randomly placed strands of fibrous plant material from the mulberry bark.
For packing purposes to post, the lengths will be folded. 

COLOURS of the PAPERS

• BURGUNDY, RED and PASTEL PINK various lengths 1 metre wide

The papers have been photographed in natural light outside. I have tried to represent the colours as best I can. The colours shown in the images on your screen cannot be guaranteed, computer monitors and screens may display the colours slightly differently.

NB. LIME, MOSS, MAUVE and SALMON sheets - There may be a faded line across the middle fold on some sheets where they had been exposed to UV light. The colours of the paper will similarly fade in time if exposed to UV light for a prolonged period over months/years.

USES for the PAPERS
The papers can be used in a variety of craft projects such as scrapbooking, journal making, cards, mixed media textile projects, collage work, book binding and wedding confetti cones.
They can also be used as a natural wrap for special presents or bunches of flowers, or even as a liner for luxury gift boxes. Artisan, decoupage, decorative, craft art paper stash. 
N.B. LIME, MOSS, SALMON and MAUVE Paper sheets - It is too soft and absorbent for painting or calligraphy uses and therefore not recommended for such projects, but may be worth an experiment with pastels, thick paint and easily flowing marker pens.

N.B. BURGUNDY, RED and PASTEL PINK Paper - It is useful as a substrate for experimental watercolour paintings, acrylic art, calligraphy and as a marbling base paper. Lampshade and lantern making.

RECYCLED CLEAN PRE-USED CARDBOARD YARN CONE BLANKS

These are the recycled cones that once carried the yarns and fibres for the Folly Flora Creative threads, yarns and fibres. They have been stored in bags in a clean and dry environment.

Made from grey/beige cardboard 2/3.5mm thick.

Some cones have printed colour coding stripes/checks at the top or base and may still have the yarn manufacturer's and wholesaler's labelling inside the cone.

USES of CARDBOARD YARN CONE BLANKS

Use your creative inspiration and skills to recycle, repurpose and transform the cones, all you need is time and imagination!

• Cover in pretty fabric, glue decorative paper or paint with acrylics or similar.
• Use up all your spare bits of fabrics, felt and threads to decorate the shapes  
• Embellish with beads, sequins, pompoms, buttons, collage and mosaics.
• Mixed Media - they can be decorated with paint, paper, fabrics, trimmings, felt shapes, yarns and ribbons. N.B. Paint them with diluted PVA first, allow to dry, paint or stick embellishments and glitter to them. Bits and bobs adhere to the cardboard better if it is first primed with the PVA.
• Christmas Crafts - turn into pretty Christmas table decorations. Cover in Christmas paper or wind tinsel round them, add a bauble or star to the top.
• Turn them into a cone shaped Christmas Tree, decorate with mini pom poms, add a star to the top.
• Transform them into pretty Christmas Angels or Top of Tree Fairies, elves, gnomes, choristers.
• Make lovely Wedding Decorations, cover cone in fabric/ribbons, add polythene liner or similar
  for pew end cones full of flowers, and confetti holders (used wider end at top).

CHRISTMAS THEME YARN CONES TABLE TOP DECORATIONS

WIRE & FELTED WOOL COVERED CHRISTMAS CONE TREES with STARS ready to decorate yourself

A unique set of 3 contemporary 'Christmas Tree' cones to decorate the Festive table as a centre piece, mantlepiece or shelf decoration.
Re-useable year after year if packed and stored carefully under dry conditions.

Height of ' Trees' 18cms. Width of 'Trees' at widest point at base 8.5cms. Star Width 5cms.

Wire covered in felted wool variable thickness 4-10mm.

The 'cone trees' may be further embellished with decorative trims, pom poms, mini baubles, charms, beads and sequins as you please, embellishments not included.

The 'Trees' have been constructed from recycled, clean, pre used yarn cones (from the yarns listed on Folly Flora) with wire covered in felted wool of irregular thickness producing a rustic, textured, 'natural' finish. The turquoise colour varies in shade producing a slight 'ombre' effect.

A near matching (the wool cover is irregular in thickness and random 'ombre' effect colour changes) set of three turquoise wool trees topped with red glitter covered stars for illustration purposes only. 

The trees are packed for posting without the stars in position to prevent damage in transit.
The stars (with their central supports) are simply gently pushed into a hole on the summit of the cone.

The cones come with detachable polystyrene stars ready for you to embellish yourself with paint, paper, fabric, beads, sequins or biodegradable cellulose based glitter.
N.B. Regarding GLITTER - historically the glitter we have all used and loved from childhood and beyond was made from plastic, metal or polyester film. These minute shiny particles are causing widespread microplastic pollution as they do not biodegrade. Biodegradable 'eco friendly' glitter is now available made from plant cellulose, often using eucalyptus cellulose from certified plantations. Only time will tell if this  'eco friendly'  alternative is truly biodegradable.

CARE & MAINTENANCE of the CONE TREES
DO NOT WASH, the tree is covered in wool roving carried on a wire (which may rust when damp).
Spot clean and pat dry any areas that need touching up, only if necessary.
If the wool or card cone inner gets wet from a table spillage or similar, place over a radiator to thoroughly dry it out.
N.B. Over time and in damp atmospheres the wire carrying the wool may rust slightly producing streaks and evidence of staining on the wool.
The fibres have a tendency to pick up fragments of dust, debris, cotton bits etc and may need a little maintenance from year to year. The felted wool fibres may be very very gently brushed, using something like a toothbrush or stiff acrylic art paint brush.

Jute twine covered cardboard cones embellished with a decorative red glitter covered (for illustration purposes only) polystyrene star on a wooden support to secure the star in position on the summit of the 'cone tree'.

Glitter from the stars may be rubbed off over time with repeated use and can be replenished by painting a little PVA glue or similar over areas lacking glitter and sprinkling more glitter over the wet glue. Allow to dry.

Laura Ashley Vintage 1980's pre-cut patchwork squares.

Originally purchased from the Laura Ashley shop on the Promenade in Cheltenham back in the 1980's!

These fabric pieces are surplus stock from my stash of vintage fabrics for making patchwork bedcovers and cushions, only a few remaining sets, once they are gone, they are gone!

NAMED SETS - The fabric pieces are packaged in named colour palette sets. The fabric pieces shown in the labelled images comprise the set you will receive. There are a number of similar sets if you require more than one to complete a project. 

NUMBER of SQUARES - The number of fabric pieces per set varies as outlined in the product details. The squares are packaged in bundles of approximately 10 (9-11) pieces, or as pairs, or as singles.  
Size of squares is approximately 11.5-12 cms, some designs may have 11.5cm sides, some 12cms.
N.B. For intricate piecing please check the sizes before sewing.

COLOURS as labelled in the product details, include mid moss green, dark forest green, pale pink, mid blue, plum/pink (difficult colour to describe), white backgrounds, cream backgrounds, navy, terracotta, rust, dark brown, sand, bright blue, apricot, yellow, red,

PLEASE NOTE - the colours shown on your screen cannot be guaranteed, different monitors and computer screens may display colours with slight variations.

FABRIC DESIGNS - include florals, plains, stripes, scattered small motifs, trellis pattern,  
FABRIC CONTENTS - Cotton medium weight fabric, some designs may have slightly lesser weight (mainly the floral/patterns on a white background).

WASH DARK colours separately for first few washes.

N.B. As with all dark dyed cotton fabrics please check the darker fabrics for colour fastness before piecing, particularly dark blues, navy, reds, rust/terracotta, plum and green colour shades.
