DETAILS on FOLLY FLORA FANCY FIBRES PACKS

Fancy fibres, novelty yarns, decorative tapes and textured threads packed in cellophane sleeves for safe posting and storing or stashing away!

Use as whole lengths for couching or even chopped up like confetti in mixed media art projects! Interesting embellishments for handmade cards, scrapbooks and journals.

LENGTHS of FIBRES

Approximate lengths of yarns are 95-105cms (unless stated otherwise). NB. some elasticated fibres (if present in the pack- generally the blue and red ones) come in shorter 20-30cms unstretched lengths.

There are approximately 15-25+ lengths of fibres in each colourway bundle. Some are very delicate lurex fibres.

PLEASE NOTE - OPENING the FANCY FIBRES PACKS

These fibres have a 'mind of their own' and the bags need careful opening, tipping out of contents and gentle prising apart of lengths before use.

TO USE/OPEN - open the stuck down 'sticky tape' end of the cellophane pack.
Cover the sticky patch on the end with your finger or fold over out the way to stop the fibres getting stuck to it and allow the bundle of yarns to freely tip out. Hold the bundle up vertically by the securing tape and gently shake to free the fibres from one another.
Carefully cut the tape and prise the fibres apart one at a time, gently pulling them away from one another from the middle down to the free ends. NB. The lurex yarns are very friable and may break.

ADVICE on USING & STORING the SPARKLY/GLITTERY FIBRES FF-18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24A+B

Please keep the glittery wound ball of fibres in its wrapping until use.

The metallised fine fibres have been grouped together usually with 3-5 'support' fine ply yarns and wound into balls. (Exception is FF-18 which has little or no support yarn, just sparkly fibres).

They will unravel easily and become VERY UNRULY and TANGLED if not handled carefully!

Use as short cut lengths or longer lengths unraveling with caution!

Can be used chopped up into tiny 'confetti' pieces and scattered on pre-glued cards, fabrics and mixed media art surfaces. Or, if tangled use as clumps of wild, loose, messy fibres.

STORING SUGGESTION for FF-18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24A+B

  • To store and help prevent a 'tangled mess', find a small jar or container.
  • Unravel a few cms of the group of fibres.
  • Carefully cut through holding tape.
  • Put the ball into the jar, leaving a few cms of fibres outside.
  • Close lid, put a small clip over fibres to keep them together.
  • Open up and gently pull out length required.
  • N.B. Suggestion NOT guaranteed to prevent tangling! Especially FF-18 FF-19 and FF-20!
